Monica V. Weedman, M.A.

My research investigates how identity and ideology shape thought, emotion, and behavior in intergroup contexts, with a particular interest in understanding why members of systemically advantaged groups might be motivated to dispute evidence of inequality and resist efforts to reduce it.

As a PhD candidate in the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Baylor University, I am currently conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Jo-Ann Tsang. Additional areas of research interest include political psychology, psychology of religion, and social decision-making.

Prior to my time at Baylor University, I received my B.S. in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin where I was a member of the Self-Regulation Lab as a research assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Beer.
